Este es el primer poster oficial de la película.
Tuve el placer de realizar el plantado de las poses de los personajes bajo la atenta mirada de Mariano Epelbaum (Diseñador de personajes). Sobre esta imagen trabajaron también Gabriel Romero y Nelson Lutty (Director de arte) entre otros.
El poster está basado en una de las primeras piezas de arte conceptual del film, que fué publicada en este blog unos meses atrás, concebida por Mariano Epelbaum y Sebastián Barreiro, con la diferencia de que en el poster final el personaje principal está plantado en una pose más heroica.

This is the first official movie poster.

I was pleased to make the poses of the characters under the watchful eye of Mariano Epelbaum (Character designer). Also worked on this image  Gabriel Romero and Nelson Lutty (Art Director) among others.

The poster is based on one of the first pieces of concept art of the film which was published in this blog a few months ago, designed by Mariano Epelbaum and Sebastian Barreiro, with the difference that here (in the poster) the main character is standing in a pose more heroic.

Art Babbitt - "Upa en apuros"

Si usted està leyendo este blog, es seguro que la animaciòn es parte de sus intereses personales. Si usted aprecia el arte de la animaciòn y no sabe quien es Art Babbitt, deje ya de leer este artìculo y pongase a buscar en internet informaciòn sobre este hombre fundamental para el desarrollo de este arte. Es una orden.
Bien, si ya sabe quièn es Art Babbitt, le cuento algo que puede llegar a interezarle:
En una de las primeras entradas de este blog, hablamos del cortometraje de animaciòn argentina "Upa en apuros". Siempre dije que esta pieza me parecìa de alto nivel ubicandonos en el tiempo en que fuè realizado, y siempre me llamò la atenciòn el alto nivel de la pieza teniendo en cuenta que en la Argentina no habìa un desarrollo de la industrìa de la animaciòn, no habìa profesionales con experiencia en animaciòn, aunque si grandes dibujantes, y sin duda esos grandes dibujantes hicieron un gran trabajo.
Hace unos dìas Jake Friedman, animador y biògrafo de Art Babbitt, publicò dos entradas en su blog donde confirma que Art Babbit estuvo en la Argentina en el año 1942 colaborando con Dante Quinterno y su equipo en la producciòn de "Upa en apuros", y de esta manera aclaran un poco màs el panorama de como este equipo llegò a tan importante resultado en la calidad de la pieza. Son dos notas riquìsimas en contenido basadas en las notas del propio diario de viaje de Art Babbitt. Los invito a leerlas y disfrutarlas.

Well, if you know who is Art Babbitt, I tell you something that will be curious for you :
In one of the first entries in this blog, we talk about Argentina animated short "Upa en apuros". I always said  I thought this piece had high-level, positioning ourselves in the time it was done, and I am always struck by the high level of the piece given that in Argentina there was no development of animation industry, not had professional with  experience in animation, even yes, a lot of biggest draftman, and certainly these great artists did a great job.
A few days ago Jake Friedman, animator and Art Babbitt biographer, published two entries on his blog confirms that Art Babbitt was in Argentina in 1942 collaborating with Dante Quinterno and his team in the production of "Upa in trouble" and thus a bit more clear the picture of how this team came to this great result in the quality of the piece. Este es el teaser de la película dirigida por Juan José Campanella. Hace unos cuantos meses que estoy trabajando como lead animator en este proyecto.
La animación del teaser estuvo a cargo de mis grandes colegas, Mauro Serei (los planos de actuación), y Pablo Lorenzo (los planos de acción). Y el personaje que aparece espiando al final fué animado por Mariano Lopez Dau.

This is the teaser of the upcoming film by Juan Jose Campanella. A few months ago I'm workingas lead animator on this project.
The teaser animation was done by my great colleagues, Mauro Serei (acting shots), and Pablo Lorenzo (action shots). And the character that appears spying was animated by Mariano LopezDau.

MAKOTO MURAMATSU

Hace como diez años recibí por mail una presentación de "PowerPoint" llena de frases sobre la amistad acompañadas por diversas imágenes. Entre esas imágenes había una que me fascinó. Era esta de los dos monitos que comparto aquí abajo.

About ten years ago I received an email with a "PowerPoint" presentation, full of phrases about friendship accompanied by various images. Among those pictures was one that fascinated me. The illustration of the two monkeys that I share below.


Recién ayer pude descubrir el nombre completo de este artísta (Makoto Muramatsu), y rastrear algunas imagenes más de su autoría. No pude encontrar muchos datos sobre él, solo que es japonés y nació en 1947. Según mis propias conclusiones creo que estas ilustraciones no son digitales, sino que están hechas en acrílico y probablemente en la década del ochenta o noventa (puedo estar tremendamente equivocado). Si alguién tiene algún dato más para aportar , será bien recibido. Gracias. Disfrútenlo.

Just yesterday I discovered the name of this artist (Makoto Muramatsu), and track some more pictures of his own. I could not find much data about him, just that he is Japanese and was born in 1947. According to my own conclusions I think that these pictures are not digital, but are made ​​of acrylic and probably in the eighties or nineties (I can be terribly wrong). If anyone has any more information to provide, is welcome. Thank you. Enjoy it.
